About G's Driving School

Teaching Birmingham to drive since 2006.

When you book with us, the instructor who picks you up for your first lesson is the one who sits beside you all the way to your test. You won't be passed between instructors or handed to someone new halfway through.

We've taught on Birmingham's roads for twenty years, so the islands, bus lanes and test routes you're nervous about are the ones we drive every day.

How lessons work

Just you and your instructor, in a dual-controlled Auris, from your front door.

Every lesson is one to one. Nobody else is in the car and nobody is waiting to be dropped off, so the whole lesson goes on your driving.

  1. We come to you

    Lessons are door to door. We collect you from home, school, college or work and drops you back afterwards, so there's no journey to a meeting point first.

  2. You drive from the first lesson

    You'll be in the driver's seat on day one. Your instructor explains things as you go, so your time is spent behind the wheel rather than parked at the roadside listening.

  3. Theory help comes free

    Free theory help is part of your lessons. Bring whatever you're stuck on, from road signs to hazard perception, and we'll work through it together.

Whether you've never sat in the driver's seat or passed years ago, there's a lesson that starts where you are now.

  • Beginners

    For your first time behind the wheel. You drive from lesson one and build up at a pace that suits you.

  • Intensive courses

    Lessons booked closer together, for when you want to reach test standard in a shorter time.

  • Refresher lessons

    For licence holders who haven't driven for a while, or who want their confidence back on busy roads.

  • Motorway lessons

    Joining, lane discipline and leaving at speed, learnt with an approved instructor in a dual-controlled car.

  • Pass Plus

    A course for after your test, covering town driving, all weathers, rural roads, night driving, dual carriageways and motorways.
